CTS Symposium 2025
The 1st Cannabinoid Translational Science Symposium was held remotely in February 2025, on:
Monday 10th, Monday 17th, and Monday 24th.
Each day was dedicated to an in-depth exploration of a distinct theme:
- Neuroinflammation
- Oncology and Pain
- Clinical Trials for Therapeutic and Drug Development Purposes
The symposium offered a highly enriching scientific experience and a meaningful opportunity for knowledge sharing, fostered through engaging roundtable discussions that brought together participants, speakers, and contributors in a dynamic exchange of ideas and perspectives.
Chairs:
Alessia Ligresti and Marialessandra Contino
Scientific committee:
Carmen Abate (UniBA), Angela Stefanachi (UniBa), Giuseppe Mangiatordi (CNR), Fabiana Piscitelli (CNR)
Organizing committee:
Daniela Esposito (CNR), Giovanni Graziano (UniBA)

The first edition of the CTS Symposium was an intense journey of insights, collaboration, and a few unexpected moments that only added to its uniqueness. Here are some key numbers that tell the story:
- 24 hours of streaming in total, split over 3 days
- 26 panelists (7 industry representatives, 9 academics, 3 researchers, 4 healthcare professionals, 2 research foundation representatives, and 1 European Drug Control Agency expert)
- 6 gold sponsors (thank you for the support!)
- 4 technical partnerships (you saved us more than once — always with patience and professionalism)
- 6 committee members (juggling chaos with grace)
- 78 pre-streaming scheduled meetings (yes, really… and that doesn’t even count the countless frantic phone calls)
- 1 dramatic 10-minute blackout (for added suspense — and to test the webinar-induced stress model as a novel preclinical assay)
A true marathon of innovation, dialogue, and teamwork — and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it possible.
