Franjo Grotenhermen
Franjo Grotenhermen graduated in medicine and earned his doctorate in Cologne, specializing in internal medicine, surgery, and naturopathy. He heads the Centre for Cannabis Medicine in Steinheim, focusing on cannabis and cannabinoid therapies. He serves as Executive Director of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Cannabis als Medizin e.V. (ACM) since 1997 and the International Alliance for Cannabinoid Medicines (IACM) since 2000. Grotenhermen also works at the Cologne-based nova Institute, which produces CBD and hemp products, and lectures at Dresden International University. He is Chief Medical Advisor for Canncura, a telemedicine platform for cannabis-related therapies, and sits on the Scientific Advisory Board of the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research. Among his awards are the IACM 2011 Special Award, ICBC 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2018 Robert Newman Memorial Award from Akzept e.V., and the 2021 GFS Honorary Award from Saluplanta e.V.
