
Kirsten R. Müller-Vahl
Dr. Kirsten Müller-Vahl is Professor of Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry, Social Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Hannover Medical School, Germany. She is a specialist in neurology and adult psychiatry. She chairs the German Association (ACM) and the International Alliance for Cannabinoid Medicines (IACM), is a member of the expert committee on narcotic drugs of the German Federal Opium Office, and had been invited as an expert to the German federal parliament for several hearings on cannabis laws. Her scientific work includes several clinical studies including controlled trials on the effects of exocannabinoids and endocannabinoid modulators. At the 9th IACM Conference on Cannabinoids in Medicine she received the "2017 IACM Clinical Research Award for special achievements in the reintroduction of cannabis and cannabinoids as medicine". Dr. Müller-Vahl has published more than 200 scientific articles, is author of several book chapters and the leading German textbooks on Tourette syndrome and cannabis-based medicine. She is associate editor of the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research and a member of the editorial board of the journal Medical Cannabis and Cannabinoids.
