
Maria Laura Bolognesi
Maria Laura Bolognesi is a Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. Her research is focused on the design, synthesis, and biological investigation of small molecules in the context of neurodegenerative and neglected tropical diseases. She has a publication record with over 200 articles in high-impact scientific journals, as well as numerous patents and patent applications, and a significant number of invited talks at academic conferences around the globe. She was awarded a Distinguished Visiting Professor Fellowship at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2009, a PVE Fellowship at the University of Brasilia in 2014, and a Professeur Invité at Université Caen Normandie in 2018. Additionally, she serves as President of the Medicinal Chemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society, as Associate Editor of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (ACS), and as a member of the Advisory Board of the European Federation of Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC).
