Martin Kaczocha
Martin Kaczocha is a biochemist and pharmacologist with extensive experience studying fatty acid binding proteins (FABPs) and their role in pain, inflammation, and disease. His research centers on the molecular mechanisms of endocannabinoid metabolism and the development of novel FABP inhibitors as potential therapeutics for conditions such as osteoarthritis and postoperative pain. He has developed and characterized animal models to advance understanding in these areas and has presented his work at numerous international scientific conferences. In addition to his research, he is dedicated to education, teaching large undergraduate and graduate courses in biochemistry and molecular biology, and mentoring students from undergraduate to postdoctoral levels. Many of his mentees have gone on to successful careers in academia and industry. He also actively contributes to the scientific community as a judge and session moderator at major cannabinoid research meetings.
