
Nadine Jagerovic
Dr. Jagerovic is a Senior Researcher at the Medicinal Chemistry Institute of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). She has served as technical vice-director of her institute and she is currently member of the material area commission of the organization (CSIC). Over the last 15 years, her scientific interests are focused on the discovery of modulators of G protein-coupled receptors related to the endocannabinoid system. The research is fundamentally oriented to the design, synthesis and evaluation of new small molecules as drugs to treat life-threatening diseases including neurological diseases, cancer and metabolic disorders. Her research has been supported by grants from the Spanish Ministry, from the US National Institute of Health, and from biotechnological and pharmaceutic companies. She has a solid track record in publishing in peer-reviewed journals. She is also co-inventor of 14 patents. Her know-how in technology transfer allowed her to license one of them to a company. She has supervised 6 PhD theses. She very much believes in multi-disciplinary and across institutional collaborative research.
