Tony Jourdan
Tony Jourdan began his scientific career at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, earning a Master’s degree in Cellular Biology and Physiology. He then completed a PhD internship under Prof. Pascal Degrace in Prof. Bruno Vergès’ lab (INSERM U866, team PADYS), focusing on the role of the endocannabinoid system in insulin resistance and MASLD development. After graduating in 2010, he joined the leading group on endocannabinoids and metabolic diseases at the NIH, working in Prof. George Kunos’ laboratory (NIAAA). From 2011 to 2017, he studied the role of macrophage-expressed CB1R in type 2 diabetes, its renal complications, and hepatic insulin resistance. In December 2017, he returned to France as an INSERM Chargé de Recherche at the CTM U1231 center in Dijon, where he currently co-leads the PADYS research group.
