Vincenzo Di Marzo
Dr. Vincenzo Di Marzo is the Canada Excellence Research Chair on the Microbiome-Endocannabinoidome Axis in Metabolic Health (CERC-MEND) at Laval University, Quebec, and Associate Research Director at the Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry, National Research Council (ICB-CNR), Italy. He coordinates the Endocannabinoid Research Group and directs the Joint International Research Unit on microbiome research between CNR and Université Laval. He holds a ChemD from the University of Naples (1983) and a PhD in Biochemistry from Imperial College, London (1988). With over 830 publications and an H-index of 145 (Scopus), he has been listed among the top 0.1% of Highly Cited Researchers for ten years. His research focuses on endocannabinoid biosynthesis, metabolism, and interactions with the gut microbiome in metabolic and inflammatory disorders. Dr. Di Marzo has received numerous awards, including the Mechoulam Award, the Luigi Tartufari Award from the Accademia dei Lincei, and was recently elected to the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine and the Italian Accademia dei Lincei.
